I would name three actions that have guided me for the last five to seven years: moments when I would deactivate my social media pages to gain mental clarity, a top question I would get asked is, "how do you remain tapped in?”
I chuckle because the internet is so vast: I am not shy of asking Google to show me the information I need. Any time there is a desire to do something, or I am curious about space, I ask Google. I toggle back and forth between Google and DuckDuckGo as my search engines. Newsletters are my favorite; the average website has a newsletter- when I meet new people or become aware of an exhibition/showcase, I research the space and sign up for their email list. I dedicate a separate email specifically for this reason.

I took three hits from my joint. I look too good for these streets but I’m blessing them. There’s an opening this evening and I have no idea who the artist is. I decided to put on my platforms and strut to the gallery.
I had a quick and generative conversation over the phone with my friend. She recently graduated from UCLA in fine arts and is looking for a job. I told her my internship was ending, and encouraged her to submit her information to positions I am transitioning out of. #teamwork We’re both learning how to prioritize women-friendships. |
